"My own breast cancer journey took place back in Apr 2020, just as we were going into lockdown.

A very surreal and strange time for everyone and for me, well, yes, a bit more surreal and very scary.

The nightmare began with that very first trip to the doctors and being referred to the breast care unit at Macclesfield, right through to having a lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Most of my treatment was done at Macclesfield Hospital (radiotherapy at The Christie in Manchester) and I can honestly say that even though we were going through a global pandemic, absolutely none of my treatment was delayed or cancelled.

Very simply put, I owe my life to our amazing NHS doctors, consultants and hospital staff."
